A FEMALE staff member has been fired after a boy was left on a minibus on the hottest day of the year in July outside an Aberystwyth nursery.
The announcement comes as Camau Bach suffered its second safety incident in just a few months on Thursday.
The nursery confirmed this week that “a member of staff was fired after the minibus incident”, which led to a two-week closure and a multi-agency investigation and care authorities stepping in to ensure safety at the facility.
Now, less than two months after its re-opening, the nursery has informed parents that police were called after another safety scare when an intruder got into the building.

It is the second safety incident at the nursery in the building owned and run by the charity Mudiad Meithrin on Boulevard St Brieuc in a few months - and managers have said that gates around the nursery will be made higher as an “extra security precaution”.
In July, Camau Bach was closed for over two weeks while a child protection investigation was conducted after a three-year-old boy was left outside in a minibus for over two hours in sweltering 31-degree heat.
The boy was taken to hospital as a precaution, in what care inspectors CSSIW called a “terrible” incident.
