CROWDS of people lined the streets of Harlech for a torchlight procession remembering one of Wales’ greatest heroes.
The Ardudwy Knights held a free event for nearly 500 local primary schoolchildren last week in Harlech castle before leading a flaming parade through the town on Saturday evening to commemorate Owain Glyndwr, the last native man to be prince of Wales.
Beth Gloster, who helped organise the event, was delighted with how the event unfolded.
“Despite the rain during the day the schools enjoyed their workshops on Thursday and Friday,” she said.
“Saturday saw more rain but brightened up for the evening where we were greeted by a great crowd of locals and visitors that joined us for a torchlight procession through the town ending at the castle.
“A lovely rendition of the Hen Wlad fy Nhadau was sung by all.
“It was the great end to our very busy summer of re-enactment with some great new members joining the group.
“Thanks to all that turned out over the year for their support and we look forward to next year for more fun.”
