COUNCILLORS are to canvass the public after it emerged only 320 people have filled out a survey which could help Aberystwyth get a new £500,000 skatepark.
It was reported in the Cambrian News last month that Penparcau councillor Mererid Jones was appealing for people to write letters of support and take part in an online survey after a previous application for funding from the Big Lottery failed because there was a lack of evidence to show support from local people, groups and businesses.
At the last meeting of Aberystwyth Town Council, Cllr Jones said only 320 people had filled out the online survey to date and pleaded with councillors to help get more people on board to avoid missing out on funding again.
“Only 320 people have filled out the questionnaire so far,” said Cllr Jones. “I don’t know how much effort others made, but I’m pleading for everyone to make the effort.”The survey can be completed hereLetters of support should be sent to Aberystwyth Town Council, 11 Baker Street, Aberystwyth SY23 2BJ, or e-mailed to: [email protected]
