An open day will be held on Thursday, 11 July, by Blaenau Ffestiniog-based company SEREN, who work with people with learning difficulties.
SEREN is a social enterprise and registered charity established in 1996.
Their intention is to offer professional care and support for people with learning disabilities in southern Gwynedd.
One of the town’s biggest employers, the charity has 70 members of staff and provides support to 50 people.
Amongst the activities and outlets set up by SEREN are the reuse and recycling of furniture and clothing/textiles, an arts and crafts centre, shops, market garden and a recently-opened three-star hotel, Gwesty Seren, offering 10 bedrooms and accessible facilities.
The open day will take place at the hotel between 10am and 6pm, and is intended to offer the public more of an insight into the work that the charity does and the activities they have on offer.
Chief executive Krystle Madoc-Jones pointed out that, despite the fact that the charity has been operating for a number of years, the community was still not necessarily fully aware of its presence and achievements.
She said: “It still amazes us that there is a substantial number of people, especially in Blaenau Ffestiniog itself, who are unaware of the extent of what we are all about and our activities.
“Therefore, we are inviting everyone who has an interest to come along to see what is on offer.
“Free tea, coffee and Bara Brith will be available.”
