A CHARITY concert raising money to fulfil the wish list of a terminally-ill 25-year-old has been a “tremendous success”.

Earlier this month a charity concert took place in Y Ganolfan, Porthmadog, in honour of Osian Glyn Jones, of Penrhyndeudraeth.

Osian has been unwell for a number of years but received the devastating diagnosis last November that he has a terminal brain tumour which will significantly shorten his life.

In spite of this tragic news, Osian is determined to make the most of his remaining time and has set out a list of wishes he hopes to fulfil.

His latest wish is to take his whole family on a nostalgic family trip to south Wales as they did when he was younger.

That particular trip is now more feasible than ever after the charity concert, featuring world-class acts, raised over £4,500, with donations still coming in.

Rhian Jones, who was a key figure in organising the concert and who is Osian’s mum’s cousin, was thrilled with the outcome.

“Osian was there at the beginning of the concert as he wanted to thank all the performers and attendees. He and [his mother] Nia are just so thankful to everyone who played a part in the concert,” she said.

“They were both very brave, Osian left before the concert started but Nia joined the rest of the family to watch the acts, everything was spot on."
