AN OSPREY project near Porthmadog is appealing for volunteers, in anticipation of the return of the majestic birds later this year.

Bywyd Gwyllt Glaslyn Wildlife is a community-based charity with a visitor centre alongside the Afon Glaslyn at Pont Croesor near Prenteg.

The charity protects the Glaslyn ospreys’ nest and shows the birds and other local wildlife to visitors.

Enthusiastic and friendly people are invited to join its dedicated team of volunteers, who are an integral part of the charity and welcome visitors to the visitor centre and share their knowledge of the birds with them.

Volunteers are also given the opportunity to help with the protection of the nest from the return of the adult birds from their wintering grounds, the egg laying, hatching and fledging right through to when the chicks leave for their first trip to Africa.

The coffee mornings are being held on Saturday, 9 February and 23 February, 11am - 2pm on each day.

Anyone interested is invited to contact Heather on 07732 251376 or email [email protected] or Becci on 07340 355241 or email [email protected]
