A PENSIONER has said she is facing the “heartbreaking” possibility of having to leave her dream home in Ynyslas if plans for a new sewer through the village go ahead.

Heather Strange has said she could be forced to leave her Ynyslas home because of concerns over noise and vibrations from a pumping station that would be sited near the boundary of her property.

The scheme has been granted planning permission, but Heather is desperate for the plans to be altered to move the pumping station further away from her property, after such a compromise was found for a similar pumping station.

She said: “I moved to Ynyslas in 2014. Where better, having been a regular visitor to the Dunes Nature Reserve since the mid 1970s to retire with my little rescue dog and enjoy life full-time in this fascinating, magical place.

“Now I can wander along the beach, paddle in the shallows or climb the undulating dunes and then do it again next day and every day. My dog companion loves it. It is our paradise.

“But paradise is under threat. We may be driven out by the siting of Pumping Station 2 of the new Ynyslas main sewer, beside our garden fence.”

After discussions with Welsh Water representatives, Heather said another pumping station location had been moved to a position slightly further from properties, but that the second pumping station is due to be sited next to her garden fence.
