A MAIN route into Aberystwyth was closed today after a lorry overturned.

The A44 was closed between the A4120 junction in Ponterwyd and the junction with the A470 in Llangurig when the lorry overturned requiring recovery work.

Ceredigion County Council staff were in place at the Lovesgrove roundabout stopping traffic heading east on the A44.

The road closure caused disruption on the first day of school after the festive break.
