Madam,

During the past couple of months someone has been regularly flying a drone over the Penycefn area of Dolgellau. It has been sighted flying at low levels over houses and gardens in daylight hours and at night. The owner of this drone is flouting the regulations regarding the flying of drones, which state that a) drones must be kept in sight and below 400ft and b) drones should not fly over congested areas and never fly within 50m of a person, vehicle or building not under your control. People who contravene these rules can be prosecuted. These regulations are in place to ensure that no member of the public is struck by an out-of-control drone and that they do not become a tool for stalkers and Peeping Toms. If any Cambrian News reader knows who is responsible for this particular drone, could you please ask the owner to desist or alternatively report the matter to the police on 101.
