AN EXCITING programme of festive events awaits Penparcau residents as the Forum celebrates its first Christmas in the new community centre.
Speaking to the Cambrian News this week, Penparcau Community Forum described what’s in store this Christmas, just months after the opening of The Hub, the village’s exciting new community centre.
On Saturday, 2 December, the Penparcau Christmas Fair promises to have something for everyone with more than 32 stalls offering a wide variety of products and advice from 3pm until 7pm.
Entry costs £1.50 (free for children) which includes a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie. Santa will be making an appearance and the Christmas tree lights will be officially switched on by a special guest at 6pm.
On Thursday, 7 December, Santa will be making his annual trip around Penparcau, taking gifts to children in his sleigh.
There will be a slight change of plan this year as Santa will be handing out gifts at regular stops around Penparcau instead of dropping them at each door. You can follow Santa’s location live on the Penparcau Community Forum Facebook page.
Then on Saturday, 9 December, a children’s Christmas party, featuring party games, Santa and gifts, will take place at The Hub between 2pm and 4pm. Tickets cost £3.50 are on sale from the community centre.
And on Saturday and Sunday, 16 and 17 December, the annual Parcels for Senior Citizens in Penparcau event will take place, where volunteers from the community distribute gift boxes to the village’s senior population.
