A PWLLHELI paramedic has received a prestigious health award after “going the extra mile” for his community.
Welsh Ambulance Service’s Christian Lewis was a recent recipients of UNISON’s Health Awards, presented to Welsh NHS members in recognition of the valuable contribution they make in their workplace.
Candidates were nominated by healthcare peers for exceeding expectations in patients’ care, being a positive role model for colleagues and helping to make the NHS a national treasure.
Christian Lewis is a paramedic based in Pwllheli Ambulance Station.
He has been in the ambulance service since 1987 and in the Welsh Ambulance Service Trust since its inception.
“It was a great honour for me just to be nominated in the first place, but to receive such recognition on behalf of the branch is wonderful,” he said.
