Morfamob is the name given to 15 individuals from Pwllheli who have come together to form a team and joined the Relay for Life organised by Cancer Research UK.
Relay for Life is a team fundraising challenge, bringing the community together to beat cancer.
Teams of family and friends fundraise for life-saving cancer research, then join an overnight celebration to show that together we are stronger than cancer.
This is the second year that Morfamob have got together. Last year £5,400 was collected for the charity thanks to various fundraising events organised by the team.
Recently two team members, Karen Jane Hartigan Jones and Mandy Coram, organised a ‘Party in the Park’ which was due to be staged at Morfa Garreg, Pwllheli, with many local singers and groups taking part.
Unfortunately, due to the poor weather the event had to be relocated to the Black Lion pub.
Despite this, the event was a great success and to date approximately £700 has been raised.
There was plenty of fun activities, face painting, raffles and music to ensure everybody had a great time.
Karen Jane said: “Even though we had to relocate at the last minute it was a great success.
“We wish to thank anybody and everybody who assisted or supported in anyway. Cancer seems to have touched most people, either personally or through family or friends.”
