I response to Ewan Lawry’s desire for penitence on the part of Bishop Joanna and her hasty tweet about untrustworthy Tories (Views, 10 June), may I express the hope that Ewan will also be seeking penitence - and reparation - from the Tory party he belongs to with regard to the abject misery his party have caused so many for so long.
The Good Law Project in conjunction with bodies like Every Doctor, Open Democracy and We Own It have spent months endeavouring to get to the bottom of the convoluted and hidden - PPE contracts.
Despite the Tory government’s obfuscation and obstruction, these bodies have proved it acted unlawfully in the procurement of PPE.
Most people found to have acted unlawfully at work would lose their jobs but Michael Gove and Matt Hancock, for example, seem set to continue.
And let us not forget the treatment meted out to the Windrush people and the Grenfell Tower residents and the cutting back of every kind of support under the ideologically driven ‘austerity’.
I could go on.
