Members of a Meirionnydd band scaled the heights of Cader Idris over the weekend to perform a unique concert.

Abergynolwyn Silver Band along with friends and family made their way up the mountain on Saturday to mark the 20th anniversary of the first time they performed at the peak.

Band secretary Elwyn Evans, said: “The band played at the top of Cader on 9 September, 1999 and we wanted to recreate that feat. There are three reasons we are doing this: the first is to celebrate the performance from 1999, the second is to attract sponsors and the third is to attract new members and raise awareness of what we do.”
