Penglais celebrates A Level success

Ysgol Penglais in Aberystwyth is congratulating it’s a Level pupils, with 40 per cent of exam results achieving an A* or A.

Congratulating pupils, Headteacher, Mair Hughes, said: “We are delighted again this year with the students’ results at Ysgol Penglais.

“Students were excited and emotional as they opened their results this morning.

“40% of all grades were A*-A, 80% A*-C and 99% A*-E which reflects the hard work and commitment of the students and staff at Ysgol Penglais, as well as the support from families and parents.

“Huge congratulations to all students who are moving on to the next step in their lives, either in university or entering the world of work.

“Most students who applied for highly competitive courses have succeeded in securing places at prestigious universities, with 6 students going to Oxbridge, 5 to study Medicine and two to study dentistry.

“Several students also succeeded in gaining scholarships to music or drama colleges. We are very proud of all the students in everything they have achieved and wish them well with their future learning and careers.”
