A MACHYNLLETH man has launched a petition to demand that mobile phone companies improve signal in the town.
Lee Catterall started the petition after becoming frustrated at the intermittent signal over the last 12 months, which has caused particular problems for Three and EE customers.
He said a number of people in Machynlleth had been annoyed at the lack of signal, and he believed Three and EE used the same mast which was why customers from the two networks were being affected.
Lee said: “I’ve been with Three for about five years and had always had good service, but in the last 12 months there’s been a lot of interruptions to the signal.
“On Tuesday, 16 February, for example, the signal went off at about 1pm and didn’t come back on until the next morning.
“Every time I ring them they say it’s a technical issue and they’ll knock £5 off my next bill, but the way it’s going they’re going to end up owing me money. I’d rather have the coverage to be honest."
