A TYWYN photographer has scooped a prestigious national award for a stunning picture of Tywyn beach.
Tim Wilde, of Wilde Photography, won an international award from the Guild of Photographers and is now in the running to win the Landscape Photographer of the Year award for 2019.
Tim, who has been granted membership of the ‘Photographers Bar’ for the second year in succession, said he was thrilled with the award.
He said: “I have literally just struck gold again in the first month of the SWPP competition and as a result I am already in the mix for the Landscape Photographer of the Year award for 2019.
“I am absolutely thrilled to have achieved a Gold Award so soon in the competition year. The bar has now been set.
“Bring on those magical Tywyn sunsets.”
Membership of the Photographers Bar is awarded to those who have achieved a score from judges to show an ‘exceptional level of professional skill and consistency”.
Around 1,500 images are assessed by judges each month with scores allocated and those who reach the threshold receiving membership of the Photographers Bar at the end of the year.
Just 200 photographers have been awarded membership in the five years that the programme has been running.
