THE Picturemakers’ summer exhibition this year is on the subject of The Sea and is in the café area of Aberystwyth Arts Centre until 9 September.
The exhibition forms part of The Ceredigion Art Trail.
An exhibition opening will take place between 6pm and 7pm this Friday, 10 August, and members of the public are cordially invited to view the exhibition and enjoy a glass of wine and nibbles with artists and friends.
The Picturemakers/Y Llunwyr are a self-funded collective of visual artists based in mid Wales.
The group is limited to 15 active members drawn from throughout mid Wales, currently: Llanbadarn Fawr and Dyffryn Paith near Aberystwyth, Rhayader, Pant-y-Dwr, Penrhyncoch, Pennant near Llanon, Felinfach and Llangwm.
Since their foundation in 2006 they have held over 40 exhibitions with more to come in 2018.
“We come from very different backgrounds and environments, and our styles range from representational to abstract, but much of our work is rooted in the natural world,” they say.
“Indeed our first ever exhibition was entitled Cynefin, which means ‘affection for familiar places and experiences, both individual and collective’.”
