THE community of Borth gathered to mark the 50th anniversary of the opening of the village school last Saturday.

Present and former staff and pupils of Ysgol Craig Yr Wylfa attended the afternoon to mark 50 years since the school officially opened on Friday, 12 July, 1968.

Events on the day included a raffle, a bouncy castle and games along with refreshments.

A display of the school’s history, including a collection of old school photographs, was shown.

The celebrations were officially opened by Borth resident and former Ceredigion MP Mark Williams.
