Madam,

I feel compelled to write to you in relation to the National Park’s survey of self-praising article in the Cambrian News, after the Society for Wales Customer Satisfaction Survey for 2017/18 was released.

Considering only 21.7 per cent customers responded to the invite to participate, the result speaks for itself.

The truth in regard to the Snowdonia National Park’s conduct in relation to the poor applicants that have to deal with them by and large is that it is an incomprehensible maze, somehow led by a group of planners that seem intoxicated with power and that seem to ignore their own planning policy guidelines.

In fact it would be fair to say that this body is the biggest contributor to killing a building industry in Snowdonia Park, in which they have mostly succeeded.

Nobody wants to deal with them as they take large sums of money, for which you get absolutely nothing, only grief and willy-nilly refusals as they deem fit.

This authority is not fit for the purpose and should be looked at intensively by an independent body to bring some fairness and justice for the poor applicants who have to suffer them. There is an abundance of evidence to show how far out of control the Snowdonia Park officers have been allowed to become to the detriment of its applicants.

Also, there is an underlying trend of conflict of interest between the Park which is a conservation body and a planning department, which should be disconnected from such a body and based on proper procedural planning.

Yours etc,

Robin Lewis, Rhydymain, Dolgellau
