DEVELOPERS behind plans for a Travelodge in Pwllheli say the delay in the development is down to obtaining a grant to cover the costs of environmental requirements.

Town councillors Alan Williams and Jonathan Roberts have both expressed their concerns that they have seen no progress on the site (pictured) since the planning was granted. So far, a year has gone by since planning was granted by Gwynedd Council.

Developers Osbourne House were given the go-ahead in October 2014 by Gwynedd Council’s planning committee to build the 55-room hotel and restaurant on the banks of the marina on Cae Ceffyl, which is expected to create 35 jobs and pump at least £800,000 into the economy.

John Fifield, of Osbourne House, says they are still keen to move ahead with the plans but need to obtain a grant to cover costs of flood risk before beginning the development.
