PLANS to demolish a former hotel in Abersoch and transform it into 15 new homes and a retail unit have been put on display to the public.

Developers Scott’s Development Ltd received the green light by Gwynedd Council in 2013 to demolish the Riverside Hotel and swimming pool in the Llyn village and develop 10 houses, five flats and a retail unit on the site.

Also included in the plans are 31 car parking spaces, bike storage buildings and a bat roost.

A revised planning application has also been submitted to the local authority to include the addition of storage huts on the site. The developers do intend to retain the hotel’s original footage.

However, a letter from Natural Resources Wales has been submitted which objects to the planning application due to flood risks.

Gareth Thomas, planning liaison officer with Natural Resources Wales, said: “We do have concerns regarding the flood risk associated with the application which will need to be addressed"
