Plans to turn an empty office building in Aberystwyth into two flats have been submitted to Ceredigion County Council.

The scheme will see 10 Baker Street turned into “new high quality and much needed one and three-bedroom self-contained apartments”, planning documents said.

The building has been empty since 2017 and the new flats would “help to meet the demand of the housing sector in Aberystwyth and beyond,” documents added.

The plans would see one one-bedroom and one three-bedroom apartment within the renovated building.

“Owing to the significant time period that the proposal building has been vacant and marketed without interest to come forward to occupy the unit as a business premises, the proposed site is considered unviable,” documents added.
