A COMMUNITY group is inviting residents of the Aeron Valley to view plans for a new cycle path project.
Dyffryn Aeron Cycle Path Group, with the support of the Ceredigion County Council-administered Cynnal y Cardi scheme, has drawn up plans for a extension to the Aberaeron-Llanerchaeron cycle path.
The proposed new track, which has the backing of the National Trust, would link the estate of Llanerchaeron with the village of Ciliau Aeron, passing the historic Ty-Glyn walled garden.
Supporters say it would also give residents a safe and scenic route to walk or cycle to Aberaeron and enjoy the countryside of the Aeron Valley.
A feasibility study by Matt Broom, from West Wales Trails Ltd, was completed over the summer and the Dyffryn Aeron Cycle Path Group is now inviting people to drop in to see the plans at Ciliau Aeron Village Hall on Wednesday, 14 December, between 2pm and 8pm.
“We would like to invite all ages to participate in this project.” said project researcher Ray Williams.
“To apply for grants to build the path, we will have to demonstrate that there is significant community support. So we’re appealing to local people to visit us at the village hall, answer a questionnaire and look at the plans over a cup of tea.”
