AN 11-mile sponsored walk has been held in south Ceredigion to raise awareness and much-needed funds for sufferers of a rare disease.

The walk was organised by Julie John and Kelly Reynolds. Kelly’s daughter Alicia suffers from MPS type 1.

Alicia is 11 and has been a pupil at Ysgol Penparc and will be starting at Ysgol Uwchradd Aberteifi in September.

Over 40 walkers supported the event, including several children. A grand total of £1,868 was raised for the MPS Society which looks after people with mucopolysaccharide and related diseases.
