A POLICE helicopter and officers have been deployed as police search for a man in Aberystwyth following a “disturbance” today.

A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesperson this afternoon confirmed a helicopter was being used in the search for the unnamed man but said, while there was a heightened police presence, the public should not be alarmed.

They said: “Dyfed-Powys Police officers are currently looking for a man in the Aberystwyth area following a disturbance at an address in the town.

“Members of the public might be aware of a higher than usual police presence, including the National Police Air Support helicopter, but we would like to assure that there is no need to be alarmed.”
