POLICE are investigating three separate incidents of graffiti in Aberystwyth.
On the wall of the public shelter alleyway between Queen’s Road and the promenade, someone has scrawled ‘FREE BRONSON’, in reference to notorious Charles Bronson, who has family in Talybont and Aberystwyth.
Originally jailed for seven years in 1974 for armed robbery, his sentence has been regularly extended for crimes including hostage-taking.
Vandals have also sprayed graffiti on the side of a house near Aberystwyth Castle and on the side of a house in Vulcan Street.
The last incident happened sometime overnight between Friday, 9, and Saturday, 10 September, and it is believed to be by a vandal who uses the same signature design.
The design has also appeared at the Music Centre in Laura Place, which has subsequently been scrubbed off.
Owners of the Vulcan Street property said that it is not the first time graffiti has been sprayed on that wall and it would now have to be painted over.
Anyone with information which could assist police with their investigations is asked to contact Pc 259 Adam Foale at Aberystwyth Police Station on 101.
