SIX candidates will be attending an election hustings in Aberystwyth this evening.
Organised by the Institute of Welsh Politics and the Ceredigion Bay branch of the Institute of Welsh Affairs, the event will be held in the Morlan Centre at 7.30pm on Thursday, 28 April.
The evening will be chaired by Sara Gibson, BBC Cymru Wales, and will provide the opportunity to hear candidates debate policies and answer questions from the audience.
The six Ceredigion candidates invited to take part in the hustings event are: Felix Aubel (Conservatives), Elizabeth Evans (Liberal Democrats), Gethin James (UKIP), Elin Jones (Plaid Cymru), Iwan Wyn Jones (Labour), and Brian Williams (Green Party).
Speaking ahead of the event, Dr Huw Lewis, acting director of the Institute of Welsh Politics, said: “The Institute of Welsh Politics looks forward to hosting this event, which will provide students, staff and members of the public with an opportunity to contribute to the debate and put questions directly to the candidates involved.
“The National Assembly for Wales’ elections in May will be one of the most exciting contests since the establishment of the devolved parliament, and we are pleased that we are able to collaborate with the Ceredigion branch of the IWA to organise this debate in Ceredigion.”
