ABERYSTWYTH University’s Centre for Welsh Politics and Society will host election hustings on Monday, 5 June, ahead of the General Election on Thursday, 8 June.
Chaired by BBC journalist Sara Gibson, the hustings will take place at the Morlan Centre, Aberystwyth, and start at 7.30pm.
Candidates from the main political parties standing in Ceredigion have been invited to attend and put their case to the electorate in what will likely be one of the last opportunities for members of the public to question them in a public forum before polling day.
Dr Elin Royles from the Centre for Welsh Politics and Society said: “The hustings hosted by the Institute of Welsh Politics at Aberystwyth University were well-established and provided an important platform here in Ceredigion for political debate in Cardiff and Westminster elections.
“We are delighted that the Centre for Welsh Politics and Society is continuing with this tradition.
“We have opted for the central location of the Morlan Centre and look forward to the same high level of interest and political debate that have characterised previous hustings hosted by the University.”
All are welcome to attend the hustings.
The candidates standing in Ceredigion are: Ruth Rosamond Davis, Welsh Conservative Party; Grenville Morgan Ham, Wales Green Party; Tom Harrison, UKIP Wales; Ben Morgan Lake, Plaid Cymru – The Party of Wales; Dinah Mulholland, Welsh Labour; The Crazed Sir Dudley, The Official Monster Raving Loony Party; and Mark Frazer Williams, Welsh Liberal Democrats.
