A TYWYN town councillor has reiterated her concern about Tywyn’s proposed ‘Pump Park’.
The park, an undulating bike track which anyone will be able to use, received positive responses when Cllr Dan Wyre, who proposed the project, visited local schools and community groups but Cllr Eileen Ellis has voiced her concerns.
The park is due to be built on the Recreation Ground next to the skate park but Cllr Ellis was not pleased with the plans.
“I’ve had a very strongly worded letter of complaint from a resident in the town about the plans and I must say I agree,” she said at this month’s town council meeting.
“I didn’t vote on the initial proposal but I think this piece of land should be for the children to play. It wasn’t given for a Pump Park, it’s not suitable for that.
“It’ll cost £34,000 to put it right, I don’t like it all.”
Cllr Wyre was not present at the meeting as he was not well.
The matter was deferred until the next meeting which Cllr Wyre is expected to attend allowing for elections.
The letter Cllr Ellis received has also been passed on to the council clerk.
