Dwyfor Meirionnydd MP Liz Saville Roberts has reiterated calls for a people’s vote on Brexit as she lambasted the current deal set out by Theresa May.

Liz Saville Roberts, who is Plaid Cymru’s leader in Westminster, said: “The Prime Minister seems to have achieved the incredible feat of creating unity between those on both sides of the Brexit debate.

"A deal that pleases none of the people, all of the time.

“With billions set to be wiped off the Welsh economy and irreparable economic damage predicted by the Westminster Government itself, we must seek a way out of this Brexit madness. The Prime Minister herself conceded that ‘no Brexit at all’ remains a possibility.

“By her own admission, the Prime Minister’s false dichotomy of deal or no deal is collapsing. There is a better way – a People’s Vote that includes the now-preferred option of the people of Wales, to remain in the European Union.”

It has been a turbulent few days for British politics following the announcement that a Brexit draft agreement had been reached.

The 585 page report is being scoured today and the contents have led to a number of high-profile resignations from the Prime Minister’s cabinet, with a vote of no confidence in Theresa May looming.

The report has been criticised by Welsh and Scottish politicians for not including a single mention of the two nations.
