A POPULAR Aberystwyth man has been moved out of intensive care after he was left in a coma following a fall down a stairway on New Year’s Eve.

Daemon Smith, 40, who works at Cambrian Printers, Llanbadarn Fawr, was left in a coma after fracturing his skull in the fall and has been looked after by staff on the intensive care unit at North Staffordshire University Hospital, Stoke-on-Trent.

Speaking to the Cambrian News this week, Daemon’s dad Ron said that his son has now been moved from the intensive care ward and onto a rehab ward.

He said Daemon was heavily sedated but no longer in a coma.

“Daemon is still very poorly and very agitated, and there is a long way to go, but fingers crossed,” he said.

“We would like to thank everyone for their continued support and a special thank you to Cambrian Printers for all their support. Thank you everybody.”
