THE service in English, on Sunday, 28 August at 10.30am, will be led by the Rev Royce Warner of Penmaenmawr. Royce is the agricultural chaplain for the Methodist Church in North Wales working with rural residents in the livestock markets and in their communities.

Golf Vintage Open

PORTHMADOG Golf Club Ladies section held the first Vintage Open Competition followed by afternoon tea on Monday, 15 August. There were 32 ladies competing in teams of four. Porthmadog ladies, were joined by ladies from Abersoch, and Caernarfon Golf Clubs. Each team had to play certain holes with a vintage Hickory shaft wood and a vintage Anderson putter. The Texas scramble competition was won by Kay Jones, Lyn Parry-Hughes, Sian Owen and Sandy Jones. The teams had an opportunity to dress up in old vintage golfing outfits with most teams dressing up and there was an array of outfits from the early to mid 1900s. There was a prize for the best dressed team going to The White Bonnets and the best dressed individual was Ceri Roberts. Most of the teams dressed up in old vintage golfing outfits.
