The man who is organising two events at New Quay’s football ground in aid of The Mark Thompson Cancer Treatment Appeal next month is aiming to raise £10,000.
New Quay FC manager Charles Lloyd Harvey said proceeds from the events at Parc Arthur on Saturday, 9 March, will go towards ground-breaking therapy treatment for the former New Quay footballer who was stricken with a brain tumour last year.
The dad-of-three, who now lives in Sussex, needs to raise £40,000 to pay for the total cost of his treatment.
Mark’s mum, Jill Evans, said her son was on a strict, no sugar, no carbohydrate diet.
“It seems to be working and he has had his first visit to Germany,” she added.
The Morgan & Davies New Quay Super 6s Invitational Charity Cup six-a-side football tournament involves eight teams, while the ticket-only New Quay Charity Fundraiser 2019 will feature seven live acts performing throughout the day and into the night along with a charity auction, drink and food stalls.
“We are incredibly lucky to have managed to secure such an incredible line-up for this event,” said Mr Lloyd Harvey. “It simply wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for such a worthy cause."
Tickets are extremely limited but some are still available via www.newquayfest.co.uk.
Details of acts appearing at Parc Arthur can be found at www.facebook.com/NewQuayCharityFundraiser.
