A fundraiser has generated over £11,000 in less than 24 hours for Owi Jones – the son of Abersoch lifeboat station’s mechanic – who has been seriously injured in Bali.

Owi, whose father is Vic Jones, a mechanic for Abersoch lifeboat station, is currently in intensive care in a Bali hospital after it’s believed he was involved in an accident during his last few days of holiday there.

A Go Fund Me page was set up on Tuesday by Joe Bradley, a friend of Owi, to generate as much as possible to fund medical and travel costs for Owi and his family.

His parents, Caroline and Vic, are currently travelling to Bali to be by his side and support him through his hospital treatment.

RNLI members in Abersoch are attempting to raise as much as possible to cover the costs of Owi’s hospital stay and treatment, as well as his parents’ flights.

It is not known exactly what happened to Owi in Bali. The fundraiser states “all we do know is Owi and his parents really need our help.

“If we can all pull together and help in any way, it’ll go really far.”
