A fundraiser has been set up in order to pay for repairs to a track on the Llyn Peninsula.
The track towards Porth Meudwy in Aberdaron Bay has been severely damaged by flash flooding over the winter, and the Bardsey Island Trust has set up a fundraising page to make sure the necessary repairs can be made.
A target of £50,000 has been set, with £2,950 being raised at the time of publication.
A spokesperson for the Trust said: “The track needs fixing urgently in order to allow Bardsey residents and visitors to return and for local fishermen to continue fishing from the port.”
It is a joint fundraising effort, so the trust hopes to make sure that the work is completed as soon as possible.
The spokesperson added: “We’re raising funds in partnership with the Bardsey Bird and Field Observatory to get this work done as soon as possible.
“The funds will go on all work required to make the track safe for vehicles and people, structural works, engineers, labourers and materials.
“Without the track it will be impossible for people to travel to Bardsey to live, work, stay or visit. This includes the farming, fishing, wildlife conservation, heritage and welcoming visitors to stay.
“It also has a huge impact on the livelihood of the fishing community who use Porth Meudwy.”
