An evening of music at the Woodlands Hall Hotel in Edern organised entirely by a group of kind-hearted youngsters from the area has raised over £600.
Over 100 people attended the event, which included a performance by the popular local band Bwncath and a disco.
The main aim of the evening was to raise money to set up Edern Youth Events group, and over £600 was raised for the initiative.
In addition to this, the young people involved have also gained the Agored Cymru national qualification in Teamwork as well.
They were supported by Andrew Owen, their local youth support worker as well as Carys Jones, Manon Jones and Aled Evans from Gwynedd Youth Service.
Khira, who was part of the group that organised the event, said: “There was no youth service in Edern before last year, there were youth clubs around us but nothing in our village. The opportunity to do projects like this is good for us because we haven’t had it before, and it’s nice to have a small village like Edern get the same attention as the larger towns and villages of Gwynedd.”
