A PUB in Llwyngwril has raised over £700 for the Wales Air Ambulance.
Jane Jenkins, owner of The Garthangharad, told the Cambrian News the money was raised through donations, a BBQ and a raffle.
She said: “A fundraiser was held at The Garthangharad in support of Wales Air Ambulance on bank holiday Sunday, 29 August.
“Perfect weather, bbq and afternoon of music provided by the Machynlleth band Tongue & Groove made for a fantastic afternoon and raised a total sum of £702.60 (donations, percentage of bbq and raffle).”
Jane believes that the total will be up towards the £800 mark, as she added: “Following the event additional cash donations have been received and two winners from the raffle have offered up their prizes for sale to increase the figure further.
“It is therefore anticipated that the final figure will be closer to £800.
“The pub has fundraised for Wales Air Ambulance previously with a quiz night and its staff participating in the My20 event and will continue to hold fundraising events in the foreseeable future.
“Local businesses and residents kindly donated raffle prizes for the event and their support was very much appreciated.”
Plans for the next fundraising event are in place, as Jane added: “Tongue & Groove will be returning to The Garthangharad on the evening of Saturday 11 December when another fundraising event for Wales Air Ambulance will take place.”
