GWYNEDD Council has been being accused of leaving a popular footpath in Pwllheli in a “disgraceful” state.
Pwllheli town councillor Jonathan Roberts, says he has received numerous complaints from residents and visitors to the area about the footpath along the North Quay.
Cllr Roberts says there are weeds growing over the walls alongside the quayside, but he has been informed by Gwynedd Council that there are not enough resources currently available to clear them.
He said: “Following numerous complaints from locals and visitors alike about the unacceptable state of North Quay in Pwllheli I sent a number of photos to Gwynedd Council at the end of July to ask them to clear and tidy the weeds that were covering the whole length of the Quayside.
“This footpath leads from an area of Pwllheli that has seen millions invested by individuals like Wetherspoons and Venu to the new £9,000,000 sailing centre at the marina end of the town.
“The weeds are now growing over the walls along the quayside and, as this is an extremely popular walk for everyone, I consider it a disgrace that Gwynedd Council doesn’t prioritise areas such as this for any form of care and maintenance.”
