People on the Llyn should use their voice to protect the future of nursing care provision in the area.
With the imminent closure of Penrhos Polish Care Home, the only place on the Llyn with nursing beds, health campaigners and politicians are asking the public to raise their concerns.
A virtual public meeting last Tuesday, 8 September, was organised for the public to hear more about the closure and the effect it will have on the area.
Cllr Mabon ap Gwynfor thanked everyone who joined the meeting.
“It was beneficial,” he said.
“We received an update from Clare Budden, CEO of Clwyd Alyn, regarding the role that they will play.
“Then we had extremely informative contributions from Dr Eilir Hughes, Cllr Anglea Russell, Geoff Ryall-Harvey of the North Wales Community Health Council, and Liz Saville Roberts MP.
“We’re expecting some sort of an announcement from the health board so it’s vitally important that people contact the authorities over the coming days to make their voices heard.
“If we’re going to succeed in retaining the hospital beds then we need the health board and government to hear the voices of the residents and their loved ones. They need to understand the affection that we have towards the Polish Village, and now that these are real people - our neighbours, friends and family, and not just statistics on a spreadsheet.”
“Representations can be sent to Mark Polin, Bwrdd Iechyd - [email protected] and Vaughan Gething - [email protected]u.
“Copy Liz and Geoff in ([email protected]) and Geoff Ryall Harvey ([email protected]).”
