A BALA company played its part in breaking a world record.

As part of Mudiad Meithrin’s 45th birthday celebrations, the voluntary organisation specialising in Welsh-medium early years provisions, hosted a different kind of party on Tuesday, 9 May.

The aim was to break the world record of 2,004 people taking part in the Biggest Pyjamas Party in the world.

Over 300 different parties where held throughout the day and the world record was smashed, with over 8,600 people taking part.

Bala firm Aykroyds & Sons have worked in partnership with Mudiad Meithrin to celebrate this special event by creating a pair of pyjamas large enough for Dewin – the Mudiad’s friendly character - as well as collaborating to produce 700 unique Dewin and Doti pyjamas to be sold to the children in the Cylchoedd Meithrin.

In the event, just under £14,700 was raised for the children’s organisation.
