Listening to the First Minister describing the easing of pandemic restrictions and the questions which were raised afterwards by the media, I was astonished when Andrew R T Davies leader of the Welsh Conservatives demanded a Welsh specific inquiry into the way the pandemic was dealt with here in Wales.

This came from a member of the party led by Boris Johnson.

The PM has promised an inquiry into his handling of the pandemic, but there is no doubt that its findings will not be released until after the next election, and the inquiry will probably be a whitewash.

Johnson didn’t even attend the first five meetings of Cobra set up to plan the government’s response to the pandemic.

His delays of starting lockdown against the advice of the scientists caused thousands of extra deaths.He handed out contracts for the supply of PPE to his cronies, and the track and trace system set up was a joke!

Knowing all this the request by Andrew R T Davies (no relation) can only be another joke. I remain astonished by the sheer hypocrisy of it!
