A closed path linking Borth railway station with the south of the village will be reopened after a change of heart by Network Rail.
A petition had been launched by disgruntled residents when the path, which was not an official path, was closed and fenced off by Network Rail.
Borth Community Council chair Rona Dalton had appealed to Network Rail to reconsider that decision, and a spokesperson for Network Rail confirmed that the path would be reopened.
They said: “Following feedback from the local community, we have decided to remove the palisade fencing that was installed to prevent people from using the unofficial route, next to Borth station.
“We are currently planning the work required and will aim to get it completed as quickly as possible.
“We would like to thank the local community and passengers in advance for bearing with us whilst we complete this work.”
