DOLGELLAU rally driver Elfyn Evans was recognised for his dominance in last year’s British Rally Championship at a prestigious awards ceremony in London.
Presented by FIA president Jean Todt and deputy president Graham Stoker, the Motor Sports Association’s Night of Champions ceremony took place at the Royal Automobile Club on Saturday, 28 January.
MSA chairman Alan Gow hosted the winners of UK motorsport’s most prestigious titles, and were joined by a series of special award winners, each recognised for outstanding achievement.
ITV sports anchor Steve Rider was Master of Ceremonies and was joined by colleague Louise Goodman.
Elfyn and co-driver Craig Parry, from Newtown, dominated the revamped British Rally Championship, winning five of the seven rounds, and were crowned champions on the Ulster Rally, exactly 20 years after Elfyn’s father Gwyndaf took the title on the same event.
Mr Gow said: “We were delighted to honour the MSA British Champions, those who have excelled in their chosen discipline to win our premier UK titles.
“Their achievements should be viewed in the context of one of the world’s strongest domestic scenes, it takes an unrivalled level of skill, determination and dedication to accomplish such a great triumph in the UK."
