Wales’ first ever closed public road rally will take place in the Cambrian Mountains outside Aberystwyth on Sunday, 8 September.
Rali Bae Ceredigion will consist of four stages, which competitors will take on twice, across roads at Bont-goch, Nant-y-Moch, Ystumtuen and Pendam.
The event will be the first competitive stage rally to be held on closed public roads in Wales and will see the start, finish and service area based at Aberystwyth University.
The rally will see 120 competitors take on 44 miles with a special launch event held at Aberystwyth’s Bandstand on Friday, 9 August.
Chairman of the organising committee Phil Pugh said he believed that the event would be a major economic boost to Ceredigion.
He said it had “been embraced by the motorsport community on a national scale”.
Wayne Jones, the clerk of the course, said places for the rally had filled up quickly after it won the backing of drivers.
He added: “I am pleased to see a large contingent of Welsh competitors taking part, together with others coming from all corners of the UK and Ireland.”
During the rally, there will be Fanzones set up for spectators to watch the different stages, while the rally will also be broadcast online on social media, hosted by WRC presenters Becs Williams and Emyr Penlan.
