An annual Paddlefest on the Mawddach has raised over £3,000 for Ty Gobaith.

This year’s Mawddach Paddlefest, organised by the Merioneth Yacht Club in Barmouth was again a great success and enjoyed by both the local community and visiting competitors alike.

The Hope house Challenge 5km Raft Race was especially hotly contested this year with ‘Boats & Hoes’ from Dyffryn eventually coming home as winners.

Last year’s winners ‘Sea Cows’ were beaten into second place with the winning Blue Light Team ‘Shocker’ finishing just a few feet behind in third.

The ever-popular 10km Guided Paddle to Penmaenpool saw a record 40 paddlers enjoy the splendour that is the Mawddach Estuary - including a 19 strong group of Paddle-boarders from Mid-Cheshire.

In total, the day raised £3,300 for Ty Gobaith.
