AROUND 30 people answered a call to help clean up Machynlleth during a litter-pick around the town.

The event held on Saturday, 8 April, saw local residents volunteer their time to help efforts to tidy up the town led by Jacinta MacDermot.

Jacinta said she organised the event after becoming frustrated at the amount of litter seen in the town and deciding to take action to ensure that there was a clean-up effort ahead of the busy Easter period in the town.

The litter-pick, which was helped by Keep Wales Tidy, saw volunteers meet up at Y Plas before cleaning litter from areas on the outskirts of the town.
