This is a plea from those inhabitants of Aberystwyth living west of Bridge Street and incarcerated in their streets by the inane and un-thought-out street closure policy.
To gain access to Trefechan Bridge we have to get on to South Prom, already crowded by campervans and with singlefile access, drive along Marine Terraces, always crowded, turn right onto Queen’s Road to North Parade, cross to Thespian Street, proceed along Alexandra Road and Mill Street. A nightmare.
A simple suggestion to avoid this rigmarole. Open up Princess Street so that cars can proceed along it, cross Bridge Street and down Queen Street to Chalybeate Street and out of town.

Why is Ceredigion council closing streets when there is no such policy in Powys? Machynlleth and Newtown are fully open. Why are play areas and the library still closed?
Incidentally, is it permitted to close trunk roads - Bridge Street and Great Darkgate Street?
Please let’s have some enlightened thinking from our local leaders, not shutdown.
