What next for Aberporth Village Hall? That’s the question being put to the community by members of the village hall charity.

The 70-year-old building is almost at the end of its useful life, but the committee need to know the opinions of the community as they start looking at grant bids.

A bilingual questionnaire asking for feedback has been left at the village hall, its sister building Canolfan Dyffryn and at local shops.

The hall already has planning permission for demolition, but with the addition of Canolfan Dyffryn (the old youth club) to its portfolio, the committee needs to consider their options.

Should the old hall be demolished? Or refurbished? Or should the hall focus on the Canolfan Dyffryn site? What sort of activities do local people want to see taking place in the hall?

“These are all questions that we need the community to play their part in answering,” said hall chairman Richard Jennings.

“We have already completed several new initiatives, including our bookings system and the hall website, but now we need to make sure that both the hall and Canolfan Dyffryn are fit for the 21st century.”

The survey will also be available online through the hall’s website at www.aberporthvillagehall.co.uk as well as the village Facebook site.
