AN RNLI exercise turned into a rescue when volunteers were called to assist a broken down fishing boat.
On Saturday the Ella Larsen lifeboat and her volunteer crew were taking part in the exercise when they were tasked by HM Coastguard to help the fishing boat.
On reaching the vessel, the crew found all five people and a dog on board. They were safe and well and wearing life jackets.
The lifeboat towed them into Barmouth harbour, before resuming their training exercise.
The call-out was a first for volunteer crew members Jacob Cleaver and Glesni Williams.
